The Holmes-Rahe Stress Scale indicates that divorce is the second highest stressor for humans, second only to the death of a loved one.  The American Bar Association defines Divorce Coaching as a dispute resolution process: Divorce coaching is a flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns.

Personal Divorce Coaching fills a gap and works in a very practical AND transformative way with individual clients.  The roll-up-your-sleeves kind of work that a CDC Certified Divorce Coach® does helps the client in ways that are different from a Therapist, a Mediator, and an Attorney, and complements their work in helping the client to make the best decisions for their future based on their own unique situation.

Divorce coaches have different professional backgrounds and are selected based on the specific needs of the clients.  For example, some divorce coaches are financial planners, mental health professionals, lawyers, or mediators who have experience dealing with divorcing clients.

This work has a good chance of empowering them to take the high road and change their experience of divorce – for the sake of themselves and their family and their community!

A CDC® Certified Divorce Coach is someone a client can talk to about making decisions, getting organized, finding the experts they need, and being the best parent they can be through the process, plus helping with any of the other rough spots they encounter along the way. A divorce coach listens to what is important to the client and asks questions to help the client gain the confidence and courage to go the distance and be proud of how they dealt with such a difficult situation.

Are you ready to take up the mantle of helping people through one of the most emotional and overwhelming occurrences they’ll ever face?

“There are few blows to the human spirit so great as the loss of someone near and dear.” ~ John Bowlby, M.D.

If you see yourself as someone with experience in divorce, from a personal or professional standpoint, perhaps you would make an ideal divorce coach! In the Divorce Coaching Intensive, we help you to fill in the gaps in how to support those who would be your clients in going through this process; and how to work well with the other professionals who are also supporting clients in different ways with different expertise.

As a CDC Certified Divorce Coach®, you will gain the tools, knowledge, and practical applications to help your client successfully move from the story of divorce to the business of divorce. With your help, they will be better prepared to communicate their wants and needs during the proceedings and into the future.
